I haven't taken the time to write about the experience of getting married, because I've been too busy being married. From the moment we published our announcement at Daniel&Jay.com, things haven't slowed down. I'll want to write a separate post about the wedding experience. I have a lot to say. And by a lot, I mean more than I could possibly capture in a single posting, so I guess it will have to be spread out over several postings.
After a wonderful East Coast honeymoon, we came back to Salt Lake City and began working out what would turn out to be our next big steps. Starting with business ventures all the way through thoughts on personal progress, we spent a lot of time tinkering with the possibilities.
The biggest question for us was, 'what do we want out of life?' Considering where we were when we met 6 years ago, our conclusions were surprising. Though, maybe not really surprising anymore. And not so surprising that we didn't agree on nearly all aspects of our future adventures. Maybe just surprising because of how enthusiastic we both were about our plans.
By the middle of September of 2009, we were laying the ground work for dramatic future change. And that future change is here next month, in the form of a move next month to Minneapolis! That's right, it would seem we are setting off with all we own to Minnesota. Why? The goal is that we'll both get masters degrees at the University of Minnesota, which may seem like an unlikely choice...but everything just adds up.
Best of all, we feel great about the opportunity--and less great about leaving such wonderful friends here in Salt Lake City. But in retrospect, what a great time we've had in Utah! We're thrilled with how well things worked out for us, and certainly we anticipate more of that same luck in the twin cities!
